TORONTO (July 1) - If Brad Richards does not end up with the Maple Leafs, it will be through no fault of the hockey club. That's what a very good source is telling me this morning. This person says the Leafs are trying to structure a deal that is near the upper end of the cap spectrum but not ridiculous in length.
I'm told the Rangers are more willing to offer a decade-long commitment to Richards.
Tampa Bay and Los Angeles are also among teams bidding for Richards.

LEAFS ARE MAKING SOLID BID FOR BRAD RICHARDS, ACCORDING TO MY SOURCE.
Would much rather see the Leafs get Stastny via Avs....If Avs sign a centre like Connolly (to be their #2 behind Duchene
